It was reported that at around 11am, a female was queuing in the Post Office on Longmoor Lane when she was approached by a male offender who pushed her to the ground and made off with a significant amount of cash.

The woman was left uninjured but shaken by the incident and the offender made off in the direction of Swainson Road. He was described as wearing a grey North Face tracksuit and a black facial covering.

CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing and detectives are keen to speak to anyone with information.

Detective Constable Nick Glascott-Tull said: “We know a number of people were in the Post Office and the Longmoor Lane area at the time of the incident and anyone with information is asked to get in touch.

“You may have witnessed the incident, or the offender making off and any information you have may be vital to our investigation.

“Likewise I would ask any motorists with dashcam footage who may have been driving down Longmoor Lane at the time to please contact us.”
