Arrested a man and recovered a quantity of drugs

At around 7.25pm, officers sighted a BMW travelling at speed on Breck Road. Following a stop-search, a large quantity of drugs and cash were recovered including suspected cocaine, ecstasy, cannabis and crack cocaine.

A 27-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs and drug driving. He has been taken to a local police station for questioning.

Chief Inspector Tony Jones said: “Drug seizures such as this show the importance of stop-searches and we will continue disruption work to pursue those individuals that make life difficult for the rest of the community.

“Thankfully, a large quantity of dangerous drugs have now been recovered and will not reach the streets of Merseyside. I would continue to urge anyone with information about crime in your area to get in contact with us.”
