Woman arrested after incident at Liverpool hotel

We have arrested a woman after a four-year-old boy reportedly ingested an unknown substance at the Adelphi hotel in Liverpool city centre on Saturday (15 June 2019).

Officers were called by the North West Ambulance Service to the hotel at around 9.55am following a report the boy had ingested the substance.

While the boy did not show signs of ill health, he was taken to Alder Hey hospital for observation and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

The substance has been recovered for testing.

A 39-year-old woman from Widnes was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug and child neglect. She has been released under investigation.
